Stormy Winns Cane Corsos

We take pride in the health, temperament and type of our Cane Corsos.
Our dogs are part of our family and receive lots of individual love and attention. We enjoy working, playing and just spending time with our Corsos

We socialize our dogs on a regular basis and they constantly interact with our family & friends. Our dogs are exercised and released daily to run and play on six acres of land which is required for this large, athletic breed.

We do a lot to ensure you a healthy and confident puppy with what we feel are reasonable prices.

We did not start out buying a bunch of adults and breeding them to make money.

We started from scratch buying and raising puppies to adults, replacing them if they did not meet our standards. It was difficult, expensive and very worth it. We now have a breeding program that we are proud of and we continue to learn and improve all the time.

We feel every measure we take to ensure healthy, well adjusted, beautiful dogs will be passed on to our customers.

Our dogs are fed chicken, protein supplements, brewers yeast and a high quality, dog food.

Our kennels are cleaned and sanitized daily. We are in the process of building an indoor/outdoor kennel which will provide heat, running water and a bathing facility

We are certified in obedience training and are approved evaluators by the AKC for the ( CGC ) Canine Good Citizen test.

SWCC Standard Procedure Before you choose us as your breeder hopefully, you will be able to visit our kennel so we can meet personally and you can interact with the dogs. Once we understand what you are looking for it is important for you to trust in us to pick the puppy that would best suit your needs. An experienced breeder can choose the right puppy for you based on your specific needs. Puppies should never be chosen according to color or size!

Occasionally, puppies make a drastic change in their appearance and the puppy may have to be replaced if showing was intended.  We take deposits based on the 3 qualities: Show, Breed & Pet.

Purpleborder.jpg

We separate the puppies into those categories when they become about 6 weeks old but we are observing and taking notes from the minute they are born. Deposits are on a first come, first serve basis, who ever got their deposit in first can have first choice from the group of puppies they put a deposit on.

All puppies will be healthy, socialized and confident with stable temperaments.

Pick:  The breeders choice of the one male or female that stands out from the rest of the litter. A puppy that not only best represents the breed standard but also shows good movement, confidence and is a good prospect for the show ring. These puppies are usually held back by the breeder for their breeding program.

Show:
Puppies that the breeder thinks best represents the breed standard and have the potential of doing well in a show ring. Show puppies can be equal to a pick puppy.

Breed:  Puppies that have a minor fault that may be bred but may not do well in a show ring. Examples would be too short/tall, muzzle slightly longer or more narrow then desired, etc.  These minor faults can be corrected with the right mate.

Pet:
Puppies that the breeder feels should not reproduce because of more then one fault or a fault that is not in breed standards. Examples would be entropion, undescended testicle, white on the muzzle, white up leg, head and muzzle too long and narrow, etc. These puppies make wonderful family companions.

If you are interested in a puppy from our next litter please fill out this Questionnaire   and we will put you on our e-mail list and send you information on our next breeding

Breeders Expenses:

If you are considering breeding, make sure you are doing it for the right reason, The main goal in breeding is to improve the breed, not to make money.

We put a lot of money into our dogs.

The adverage dog show expence is about $600.00

Our average expenses (10 dogs) per year:

Dog Food        $6,000.00 (chicken, eggs, supplements)

Care                $4,000.00 (shampoo, flea preventative, micro-chips, etc,)

Housing          $3,000.00 ( dog houses, kennels, straw, wood chips, tarps)

Vet                  $5,000.00 (ear crops, hip test, rabies, health checks, misc.)

Dog Shows       $3,500.00 (memberships, show fees, hotels, gas, tolls, etc.)

Advertising    $3,000.00 (Web Page, business cards, magazine ads, etc.)

Equipment      $4,000.00 (leashes, collars, bowls, training, etc.)

We have estimated that the cost to whelp an average size litter (9 puppies) is equal to the cost of one puppy.

Total approximately $28,000.00 + per year
